The rate of adoption of new technology has traditionally been faster and faster.
The automobile was a big one. Lets say it took thirty or forty years for the car to gain mainstream adoption. The production line came quickly after that, which propelled even faster adoption, thanks to Henry Ford.
The computer was next and it took even less time for mainstream adoption.
Next came the internet thanks to Sir Tim Berners-Lee.
The smartphone was invented by Martin Cooper. BOY that one went mainstream in a hurry.
Cryptocurrency came next thanks to the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto. This is still entering its adoption phase and coming along well.
Now here in the last few years we are entering the adoption of the artificial intelligence. It should literally just spike into total mainstream adoption in much less time than it took for the smartphone to gain its dominance in everyday life.
Most all the people who have been on this rocket ride known as technology have benefited from it. After all, machines were created to make our lives easier.
But the adoption rate gets faster with each new thing that happens. Personally I would like a nice AI to make us a starship to explore the galaxies. That starship will have a [replicator](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG6PVEE90_o) that also will undoubtedly be one of the most popular inventions ever made.
