The challenge is that the millennial generation grew up on a rudimentary and simple internet and devices that rapidly increased in complexity. This led to a greater general understanding. You knew how it worked and could do basic trouble shooting when it was simple, so when it got more complex the same principles apply. "Google It" became ingrained as you could search for information that was popular due it it's relevancy. Now, it is far too "perfect" and there are many short cuts to outsource the learning and understanding required, which gives the appearance of learning but is rarely educational. The outsourcing of thinking is my fear, even my older coworkers are throwing things into ChatGPT and taking the results with no editing - it is generally correct and specifically wrong in almost all cases. For children now, you don't need to learn to write an essay. That is inefficient. Leave a voice note or have ChatGPT write it for you! That frees your time up to go back on your phone and watch videos or play games. Trust me, this generation of phone addicts is not learning how to program or get into IT. You might see it from more dedicated gamers learning to mod Minecraft or make their own games on Roblox but it is a completely different world now.
