My summer interns tried to use AI for coding physics based M&S in MATLAB. One intern was a very skilled programmer with pre established AI experience, and he only prompted the AI to establish a MBSE modular architecture, then he populated it with the necessary equations. The other intern refused to abandon AI, and kept using it throughout the summer to disastrous results. I handed him the text book and pointed out the equations, but he completely failed at critical thinking and would not audit the AI’s work until I specifically walked him through it. We stepped the script, got to an equation, and I would say “okay which equation is this?” “I don’t know, the AI wrote it.” “Okay… well, let’s look it up… here it is… it is upside down.” Facepalm
