Interesting. Did you work on 20% projects with teams that you'd want to transfer into?
A few years ago I was interviewing for a SWE at Google, but I left in favour of an internship at Amazon's machine learning team. I'm keen to interview again for a SWE role at google, with a view towards transferring internally to a machine learning team at Google.
