I think there are parallels with the dot com bubble but it's not exactly the same.
The dot com bubble was explained by a super practical tech that everybody wanted but too much money was invested, too fast.
The AI hype bubble can be explained in parts by a very costly technology that not so many people want, in parts because it is condemned to have a reliability problem.
