Talking with some friends at Amazon and in the startup space, I think the probable trend is will probably will be 12-24 months (2027) - Many of the currently funded AI startups will hit the end of their runway. Many are getting investments in the $500K-$1.5M, and that’s enough to staff a team for 1-2 years with no revenue. I’m saying this as someone doing contract work for one of these types of startups. There’s easily several hundred that are doing things like “ai for matching community college students to universities.” As these companies fold, I am guessing there is a reasonably strong chance sentiment on AI will falter.
