Yea, but it's doubling down on the obvious larger problem. This isn't a complicated root problem: **We stare at screens all day for social connection**. AI is a continuation and multiplier of that, not merely a symptom. Sure, there's some logistical lifestyle infrastructure that diminishes forced human interaction - goods delivered so you don't have to go out, more efficient transactions meaning less face to face interaction when you do go out, remote work, online school etc . Also, the black swan event that was COVID ruptured a lot of people's existing social nets recently. But those things aren't the main issue. It's pretty simple to me: we fill our social needs with group chats, online forums, video games, etc. instead of saying hi to real humans around us. We choose these alternatives because it's easier, and less scary. If something is easier and less scary we generally do that thing regardless if the long term rewards of the easier ,less scary thing sufficiently replace the rewards of the harder , more scary thing. As we continue to choose the easier , less scary path the harder, more scary path becomes even more harder and even more scarier because our skills diminish from lack of practice. Vicious cycle same as any substance addict becomes familiar with. The research is clear and more isn't needed- we need social interaction. We need shared experiences with other vulnerable, flesh and blood organisms. We are a social species. It's why people get pets and have combatted loneliness with animals for millennia. So yes, the answer is and always has been find real people to be with so you fill your social needs. GET OFF YOUR PHONES.
