I remember someone pointing out that there is a sort of negative survivorship bias at play here, sort of like there is with CGI. Basically, people have a dim view of CGI because the only CGI they are aware of is bad CGI, because they can't detect good CGI. The same is true of AI. People will always have a negative view of AI written content because the only content they will be able to successfully identify as AI will be badly written and full of obvious tells. Meanwhile, whole industries will adopt good AI and no one will care or even really know outside of those who work with the technology directly, because it won't seem like AI to anyone.
