I wonder if people here will ever get tired of posting “People thought this was real, but it’s really AI” stuff. Yes, if AI generates something that looks real and isn’t obviously fake based on the content (ex: 3 headed green cows flying through New York City) and isn’t said to be fake, people will assume it’s real. If I walk outside wearing a police officer uniform, people will assume I’m a police officer. If I say “Hey, my name is Keith” people will think my name is Keith even though it isn’t. I just don’t see why this stuff is treated as a “we’re so doomed” thing and posted over and over. Correct, people can be tricked fairly easily about innocuous things they don’t care about enough to look into.
