Well, this is a great example. People learning to drive today are so used to following Google Maps instructions. They don't learn to navigate. Yes, you can learn to navigate, and practice that skill - but few people do in 2025.
Ditto calculators. A modern calculator is incredibly powerful - but I can work faster with a slide rule than some people today with ChatGPT and a 4 function calculator, because I'm used to having to think about what I'm doing.
Its not that the calculator is bad for you, but relying on it thinking for you isn't going to "level up" your maths skills.
