I think this should be used as a watershed moment for Americans, I was guilty of believing that it was best for the US to rule the AI/AGI race, but the fascist turn of Meta, and the very obvious signals Sam Altman was sending that he, too, was willing to go down that road and kiss the ring has convinced me that there is absolutely nothing to be gained by these bozos running the show. Chinese government influence is not a non-issue, it is indeed worrying, but not any less so than having a company like OpenAI or Google running the show.
