I think the real issue is companies have pumped so much money into AI they are desperate to show investors it has the value they put into it. They were hoping Ai would progress like Moores law but it hasn't, so they need something to show for it. It's all BS though. In articles and pods, when CEOs say Ai will replace us no journalists are pushing back that there has been no meaningful progress since gpt4
