A lot of human journalists stink… AI can only make them suck even more though. This is another one of those things where having a human do the job is a moral imperative (like soldiering or policing). AI lacks the judgement and morality needed for something as important as influencing the opinions of millions of actual human beings. They would be far too easy to use to manipulate themselves too.
