Of course you have to prove yourself before getting defence equipment. We shouldn't give them shit until they've proven they're not going to turn around and sell it to Russia, or mix, for instance, our aircraft/missiles with Russian anti-air which creates a data collection opportunity for what is effectively our enemy. It's not about respect, it's the reality of military secrecy.
