Why the hell are you even in a futurology forum if you want to keep us stuck in the past. AI will usher in incredible new advances in a wide variety of fields. It's already being used to do research, and to help disabled people. I use it to help me write. It's not great at writing, but it is fantastic for brainstorming, or for searching for and learning about obscure stuff, like the structure of a typical college administration that mere googling might take hours to uncover.
