The problem I see is that no amount of whining, protests and stomping of feet will stop the progress of this technology. They might delay it by a few months or something, but as soon as folks figured out the Transformer architecture it was just a matter of time. To me the obvious answer is to directly tax the profits of AI companies, and any companies that use AI commensurate to their share of the overall economy now and forever.
