https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QAGEvt-btI Corridor Digital created an anime using AI. They hired an artist to train the AI, and they acted out the roles. Then on top of that, they did a ton of post-processing work. Did they save money by doing it this way? Maybe. Maybe not. I'm not sure how many anime artists and how long it would take to do something of this scale. However, I suspect that once they got the process down, doing a bunch of episodes this way would be both cheaper and faster than doing an entire animated series by hand. Also, while the original output from the machine may not be copyrightable, even though the input video most certainly would have been... What about thei post processing they did to it? And the audio and music? Or at the very base level, the story they wrote and told?
