It's just more junk science like lie-detectors… that work really really well on white people. So it’s not junk, just less effective/reliable on darker skin tones. The best face identification program, according to tests by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, had an error rate of under 0.08 percent as of April 2020. In comparison to 2014, when the finest algorithm had an error rate of 4.1%, this represents a significant improvement. EDIT: Psst. I’m really referring to lie detectors. Lie detectors don’t actually work really really well on white people specifically…. Facial recognition does. It’s not junk science, it’s just not perfect, kind of like humans that are false witnesses, have bad eyes and/or poor memory recall.
