I think this is the way to actual AI, not the LLM that ChatGPT is. IMO If you program something, it isn't AI. AI will learn what it needs to do based on environmental inputs.
However, I think there is some line where something becomes sentient, vs just a blob of cells. Where that line is I'm less and less sure everyday, as listening to some politicians it makes me wonder if they are sentient or not. If we draw some line stating "brains at this level are sentient", I'm afraid most of the US Government would be disqualified.
