AI has been pretty good for a while. I know people who back in 2018 used modeling to help optimize code for a project with tight performance expectations and it did a damn good job. Better than any human they had on their team. The difference with this new generation of GPTs IMO is that you can talk to them as you would another human. It’s not a hidden entity anymore that’s doing stuff behind the scenes like recommending products or generating a social media feed. It’s interactive and people have a hard time separating an interactive chatbot from something with consciousness.
