This is not revolutionary. There were previous other website and online symptom calculators in the past. ChatGPT is not any better than them. At the end of the day, medicine will obviously always be a protected profession. Even if AI was 99.9% accurate, they would pass legislation preventing it from replacing doctors. So not much to discuss here. But I could see this technology to be used to assist doctors. But then we have to beware of it doing more harm than good, because some doctors might get lazy and rely on it too much/it might bias the doctors' decision via "priming". It should complement, not supplement the human doctor. I think the more pressing issue is people not being able to self-report their symptoms properly. Garbage in=garbage out, whether it is an AI making the diagnosis or a doctor. Also, the bigger issue is all the absolutely unnecessary doctor's visits in the first place. A common sense diet/lifestyle is missing right now. So rather than focus on AI to replace doctor's diagnosing, we need to get our priorities right and stop 0.1% of the rich population causing the population to have absolutely artificially and unnecessarily high levels of diabetes and heart disease due to absolutely bizarre and strange diets and lifestyles that are solely to boost profits of a few individuals. We don't even abide by common sense and primitive basic human knowledge that our ancestors had, and people are focused on using AI for diagnoses.
