It's been on for years. AI arms races.
Worst thing is we have no idea the true power of these systems until we start seeing the outputs. Early indicators are information control and perfection of disinformation. That alone is bad. But add in weaponization, security attacks, etc and we are about to change the face of world society and politics.
We are fucked unless we get going on bilateral agreements and rules. OpenAI (team that trained chatGPT) already said that if they wanted to be evil with it it would have been incredibly easy.
