The “better education” argument has always been a crock. That’s how we’ve got an entire generation of bachelors or better working in retail and service jobs.
Even supposing a degree *did* guarantee you a better job, then who is supposed to work these ones? Somebody has to run the grill or the till. Someone has to work in the store. Stammering or silence is the typical response.
With automation, we’re just running towards fiefdoms all over again.
