At that point, it will be quickly advertised to the masses that sometimes video isn’t reliable, and a host of video authentication experts will suddenly be in high demand. This will all happen in days, not weeks, and the impact will be negligible on any individual, and a slight adjustment to society. Seriously, we have already been trained with ubiquitous CGI that video lies. There is no deepfake that will be more authentic looking than multimillion dollar CGI blockbusters…. Yet here we are with the full understanding that Avatars aren’t real. There are no lightsabers. Starships don’t actually exist. Ryan Reynolds is not real. We have already adapted.
