This is exactly right. I work in a very small niche area if the law, there’s only about 10 firms in the area that do what I do, and we have to maintain relationships with the other firms to some extent. If I’d have sued them I would have needed to change the type of law I practice, open my own firm, or move to a new area in order to get another job in the same area of law.
