A lot of people here defending China and blaming the US (no real surprise). Yes, it's true that per capita china polutes less, but you are not considering the great number of people in China who do not live in the developed parts of the country. Also, as workers start to earn more money (as they should) they will be buying more stuff and be contributing more to greenhouse emissions just through daily activities. It's going to get much worse and I highly doubt China cares much about their climate impact, as long as their economy keeps going strong. I doubt many countries do. A lot of green protects are just smoke and mirrors.
