This analogy would only be good if the developing nations could get to have electricity and clean water easily without consuming fossil fuels. You can’t just say “just don’t use fossil fuels” without actually providing a viable alternative. That’s just condemning their population to carry water in buckets above their heads for another generation or maybe more.
