This is actually a interesting topic. We currently have first world countries like America and much of Europe who went through their industrial era during which they contributed massively to pollution, countries like China that have hit their industrial era (only on a scale somewhat more massive than the US or Europe ever did), and developing countries who have not yet reached such levels of industry. The issue is that the first world countries are effectively turning around and telling everyone else that they can't do what they themselves did. But climate change isn't like a messy room where you can just pick up the trash and clean it up. Going forward the only option I can see is for us to share green technology worldwide to allow other nations to skip the worst parts of the industrial era. But more importantly we need to figure out how to reduce emissions for the first world countries.
