A while back there was news of Ring cameras being hacked, which would mean hackers could spy inside or outside of people's homes. There were concerns about privacy, burglary (easier to rob someone when you know for certain no one is at home) and so on. Facial recognition would be on a much larger and much more significant scale. If hacked, someone would be able to stalk you virtually 24/7, making it much easier for crimes such as kidnapping or robbery, or for an abusive/psychotic ex to track someone down. People don't realise how much value there is in knowing a person's movements and whereabouts. Data companies see it as a goldmine. It would enable businesses to literally come to a customer via targeted ads instead of waiting and hoping for their demographic to notice an ad. This sort of personal information would be much easier for companies to use manipulative practices to sell their products. (Hey Susan, you notice how there's a street on your way back home from work that's so quiet it is pretty much deserted? Maybe you should buy our pepper spray, just in case.)
