It's probably because other than a few isolated incidents, groups of vigilante suburbanites slashing tires on self-driving cars just doesn't happen. UK news outlets tend to sensationalize things. Other than one article from the *Arizona Republic* a year ago, they don't really have any legitimate sources cited in their version.
