I can understand the reasoning behind her views. They are not currently acting on the facial recognition like people are thinking. Without real world data and feedback the system would never really improve. Honestly if you just pulled any single metric cops use to make arrests they would have similar false positives. They might get 100 different false leads questioning witnesses on a case as well and only 1 is good for a 99 false positive rate, you still follow them all up. You would use this kind of tool just to send a cop to double check a suspicious person who would have a good picture and be able to double check.
