The combination of omnipresent data tracking, lack of anonymity, artificial intelligence and authoritarianism is incredibly dangerous and very close to being reality. China has the potential to become a nightmarish dystopia of the type only conceived in science fiction. Everything you do, everyone you know, everything you buy, all known by the government. With AI, people will no longer be able to rely on human limitations to get around the rules. In a world where all transportation is automated, and controllable, how can anyone mobilize to resist? The government could just turn off all the cars. We would be helpless. This is what China is working towards as we speak.
