Insane, I feel for you man (or woman). :(
Honestly, I feel like the US is *long* overdue for an overhaul improving workers' rights. At-will employment and Right-to-Work laws have been so detrimental to US labor. To my knowledge there aren't any limits on the hours in a work week, 40 hours is just a convention. Employers have all of the power in the equation here, and there's really very little to stop them from abusing workers as they see fit. It remains an employers' market for labor, and that's going to be leveraged to the utmost.
Moreover we remain the only country in the OECD (actually anywhere, I think, besides Papua New Guinea) that guarantees exactly **0** days of paid vacation or parental leave. Even South Korea (to stay on topic somewhat, lol) guarantees vacation time, 3 weeks according to Wikipedia.
In any case it's good that South Korea is moving towards treating their citizens better in the workforce. I could only wish my country would do the same.
