The problem with any good ideology is that humans always fuck it up when it starts being put into action.
Yeah, it would be nice to have Automation take over everything and then have UBI put in place, then pay the ones who upkeep the Automation a bit more to compensate them for the extra work compared to the average, but that will never happen. Human nature will screw it up because everyone would rather be rich regardless of what happens to others rather than work toward everyone living comfortable average lives.
Then there's also the problem of people who will always try to get more for less and will attempt to find ways to cheat any system.
