This is precisely the problem. Certain celebrity "inventors" are spouting off bullshit about the capabilities of self-driving cars and everyone is buying it. The tech to safely deploy it is nowhere near finished, let alone mature, and now they're allowing automakers to sell cars that don't meet the minimum federal auto safety requirements under the guise of "promoting innovation."
