Will to live I think is just a colloquial term for, the body does it's damndest to keep things running and that instinctual parts of the brain kick in when danger is at hand. It's not through any choice of it's own, just an auto response to outside influences, or sometimes internal.
I think humans are just observers, in the most complete sense of the term. But we're also at a point where in our brains, the evolution of logic is very small and often not weighed in properly or equal to everything else going on. Which creates all these existential and internal conflicts with our own existence and that of the universes. I think in time, we will either evolve, or force evolve (which to me, is just the next step of our evolution, being able to control whats important to us and what would benefit us, rather than leaving it up to what we would consider random chance) the ability for the logical parts, and emotional to be weighed equally in importance. Which likely would throw us into an entirely new existence and ways of thinking.
I see us currently as creatures who have come so far to be able to see where we make mistakes, where we could improve things, to think ahead, but as of now, not do much about it, because we're too weighed down by our past, because we're not designed and have flaws.
However the first step is always seeing the flaws, before you can fix them. I think we're at step one and it's why everything feels so overwhelming and we're always so at odds, because we're subject to things way outside our control, and our brains hate this.
