A lane, similar to high traffic lanes on some toll-roads, that have hours of operation. For instance, here on the George Bush Turnpike in Texas, a high traffic lane opens from 6am-10am, then closes until 4pm.
Supplement this for self driving vehicles only, with heavy fines for those self-drivers who violate the automatized lane during automation hours.
