The ruling power uses that viewpoint to circumvent a moral majority from acting on behalf of the powerless protesters/rioters, and that was the final conclusion of my argument. I'm not passing moral condemnation on protesters or rioters, I'm saying the masses won't move for them now. There may in fact be a rich vein of riot-redeeming literature, but I don't think you can change the popular opinion with it, and that's the crux of my argument.
